This Privacy Policy explains how Rot Together ("Rot Together," "we," "us," or "our"), a product of Sunset Arcade, collects, uses, and shares information when you visit this website or use the Rot Together mobile app (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide. Your email address when you join the beta waitlist or create an account; profile details such as your name or avatar; the streaming services you tell us you have; and messages you send us.
- Activity in the app. The titles you like, pass on, or mark "in the mood," your matches, and the groups you join. These are required for the core matching features to work.
- Technical information. Basic device and log data (such as IP address, browser or device type, and timestamps) and similar information collected automatically to operate and secure the Services.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To power matching, groups, and "in the mood" features between you and the people you connect with.
- To send you beta invites, product updates, and service-related messages. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
3. Streaming catalog data
Rot Together does not log in to your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming accounts. You self-report which services you have. Title information, artwork, and availability come from third-party catalog providers. We use canonical media identifiers to recognize the same title across providers.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With people you connect with. Members of your groups can see shared activity such as mutual likes and matches, as described in the app.
- With service providers who help us run the Services (such as hosting, analytics, bot protection, and email delivery), under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons. When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Services.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the signup form from bots, which may set technical cookies or local storage required for that protection. We otherwise keep tracking to a minimum.
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can request deletion of your account data as described below.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, use our contact form or email gnomes@rottogether.com. You can also unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
